We want this website to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or with motion reduced.
What we aim for
This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Every page is checked automatically against that standard before it is released, and the check has to pass for the site to be published at all.
What that means in practice
- Everything can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, and the focused element is always visible.
- There is a skip link so you do not have to pass the whole menu on every page.
- Text meets the contrast levels the standard requires, on every background used.
- If your system asks for reduced motion, the moving parts stop — the hero shows a still image instead of a video, and the strips do not drift.
- Images that carry meaning have text alternatives; images that are purely decorative are hidden from screen readers rather than described pointlessly.
Where we fall short
We would rather name these than let you discover them:
- The opening sequence is a video whose words are part of the picture, and it exists only in English. The same wording is on the page as real text, so a screen reader reads it correctly, but a Hungarian visitor sees English in that one place.
- Some documents are still being prepared and their pages currently say so rather than carrying the full text.
If something does not work
Please tell us — it is the fastest way for it to get fixed. Write to iroda@tallar.hu, describing the page and what happened. We will reply within one month, and we will tell you what we can do and by when.
